Five Pakistani Students Selected for Japan Youth Exchange Program




Five university students from Pakistan have been selected to visit Japan under the invitation of the Japanese government to participate in the JENESYS Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths program, the Embassy of Japan in Islamabad announced on Monday. The students will travel from December 16 to 23, joining 35 high school and university students from other SAARC countries. Focus on Environmental Sustainability and Disaster Resilience

This year’s program emphasizes “Environmental Sustainability and Disaster Resilience” Through the JENESYS initiative, the Japanese government aims to promote mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region by engaging youth in cultural and educational exchange.


Educational and Cultural Activities in Japan

During their visit, participants will take part in a variety of activities to deepen their knowledge of Japan’s economy, history, politics, diplomacy, and culture. The program includes lectures, discussions, thematic site visits, and a homestay experience, allowing students to immerse themselves in Japanese daily life.

Pre-Departure Orientation and Encouragement

The Embassy of Japan in Islamabad organized a pre-departure orientation session to prepare the Pakistani students for their journey. Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi extended his best wishes, encouraging the students to fully embrace this unique learning opportunity and act as cultural ambassadors to strengthen ties between Japan and Pakistan.

The JENESYS program, held annually, is designed to build capacity, foster people-to-people connections, and promote long-term cooperation between Japan and SAARC nations, offering young participants a valuable platform for cross-cultural learning and international collaboration.
