FBISE Postpones Matric Exams in Four Overseas Countries

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education FBISE Islamabad has officially announced a partial postponement of the SSC 1st Annual Exams 2026 for several international locations. Due to the escalating security situation and geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East, the board has suspended examination activities in Iran, Kuwait, UAE, and Bahrain.

Partial Suspension of Overseas Exam Centers

While the FBISE manages a vast network of affiliated institutes globally, the current regional crisis has necessitated a temporary pause in specific Gulf territories. According to the official notification issued on March 25, 2026, the postponement applies exclusively to the four aforementioned countries.

Key details regarding the suspension include:

Withheld Roll Number Slips: The board will not issue roll number slips for students registered at centers in Iran, Kuwait, the UAE, and Bahrain until further notice.
Unchanged Global Schedule: Examinations at all other international FBISE centers including Saudi Arabia and Qatar will proceed exactly as per the previously announced date sheet.
Security Review: The board Chairman, Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali Malik, confirmed that the situation will be reviewed within 15 days to determine a new rescheduling date for the affected papers.

Facilitation for Affected Overseas Students

Recognizing the academic pressure on the expat student community, the Islamabad Board has introduced a special facilitation policy. Students from the postponed centers who are unwilling to wait for a rescheduled date are being offered alternative options:

Exams in Pakistan: Students can opt to appear for their matric class annual exams at any designated center within Pakistan.
Neighboring Country Centers: Candidates may also request a transfer to centers in neighboring countries where the exam process is functioning normally.
Application Process: Interested students or their respective institutes can apply for these shifts via the FBISE official portal or the designated WhatsApp helplines.

Logistics and Alternative Arrangements

For centers that remain operational, the board has authorized in-house printing of answer scripts where logistical challenges exist. If the security situation in the suspended regions normalizes sooner than expected, the board has signaled its readiness to accommodate these institutions within the ongoing examination cycle.
