Federal Board Revises Minimum Passing Criteria for SSC and HSSC Students

According to an FBISE representative, this new rule will be applicable to students appearing in the 2026 exams for both Secondary School Certificate SSC-I and Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC-I levels.

Previously, students needed to secure at least 33% in each subject to pass. With the revised policy, the passing has been raised to encourage higher academic achievement and bring the evaluation system in line with international educational standards.

This decision was made following the recommendations of the Inter-Board Coordination Commission IBCC, which recently reviewed grading and assessment practices across Pakistan’s educational boards.
