Extended Winter School Schedule Remains in Force Province-Wide

School Education and Literacy Department has decided to prolong the adjusted winter school schedule across Sindh in view of the persistent cold weather conditions. According to the latest announcement issued on Sunday, the revised timings will now continue until February 4. The students can get the latest updates of Extended Winter School Schedule Remains in Force Province-Wide.

As per this decision, all government and private educational institutions throughout the province will keep starting their classes at 9:00 am, while the usual closing times will stay the same. This measure applies to all schools operating under the administrative authority of the Sindh Education Department.

The revised schedule was initially introduced on January 10 when the province experienced an intense cold spell. At that time, schools were instructed to delay morning opening hours to protect students from the harsh winter conditions. A recent notification confirmed that this earlier directive will remain effective until the new deadline of February 4.

An official spokesperson from the education department explained that the extension was necessary due to the continued severity of the cold wave across different areas of Sindh. The move was implemented in line with the instructions of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, keeping student welfare as the top priority.

Previously, the department had already extended the winter timings once, allowing the 9:00 am start to remain in place until January 26. However, as low temperatures persist, authorities have decided to further extend the arrangement to ensure a safer and more comfortable environment for students and staff.
