Educational Support Program for Transgenders Students in Lahore

In a progressive move, the Lahore Education Authority has introduced a monthly stipend program for intersex individuals, commonly but inaccurately referred to as trans genders. This initiative is specifically aimed at students enrolled in the Government Girls High School in Garden Town. The candidates can get the latest updates of Educational Support Program for Intersex Students in Lahore.

Monthly Stipend Details:

Under this program, intersex students at the mentioned school will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000. This includes Rs. 5,000 designated as a monthly stipend and an additional Rs. 5,000 allocated for conveyance allowance. However, eligibility for the stipend is contingent on maintaining a minimum 80% attendance.

Attendance Criteria:

To qualify for the monthly stipend, intersex students must consistently uphold an attendance rate of 80%. Notably, classes at the Garden Town school have been scheduled on the first three days of the week since the previous year.

Comprehensive Educational Support:

As part of this inclusive initiative, intersex students are entitled to various benefits, including free education, textbooks, and meals. The educational program also ensures quality teaching by employing experienced teachers dedicated to their instruction.

Establishment of Specialized Schools:

Its noteworthy that the first school catering specifically to the morphodite community was inaugurated in December of the preceding year by the former Education Minister, Murad Raas. Prior to this, similar schools had been established in various districts of Punjab, including Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan. These schools aim to provide a supportive and conducive learning environment for intersex students.
