Educational Institutes in Pakistan Reopen from 15 Sep
Islamabad, Federal and Provincial Ministers of Education has made the decision to reopen the schools, colleges and universities all over the country. The meeting of the inter provincial ministers was conducted under chair of the Federal Education Minister, in which all provincial education ministers attended through the video link while the chairman and Executive Director of HEC also participated in this meeting. The officials of the Health Department gave the briefing to the meeting, in which it was decided to reopen the educational institutes in three steps. In the first stage, the 9th, matric, college and university classes will be started from 15 September and after the reopening of the big classes, the situation of coronavirus pandemic will be analyzed. After the analysis of the situation, the classes from 6 to 8 will be allowed to resume their academic activities from 23 September during the second stage. During the third and final stage, the classes from 1 to 5 will be reopened. The SOPs regarding coronavirus will be adhered strictly in the educational institutes and it will be compulsory for the students to wear the face masks. The recommendations of the meeting will be sent to NCOC (national coordination council), which will accord the approval of the final decision. The matter regarding equal education curriculum was also discussed during the meeting and the establishment of the anti harassment bodies in the federal directorate of education in the provinces was also discussed. The SOPs regarding the reopening of the schools were given the final shape during this meeting.
It is worth mentioned that the announcement regarding reopening of the educational institutes from 15 September was made during the previous month, however, it was subject to the recommendations of the National Command and Operation Center and approval of the inter provincial education minister council.
