Education Boards Collaborate to Introduce E-Marking System

To enhance transparency and modernize the examination process across Pakistan, the Inter Boards Coordination Commission IBCC organized a meeting on Wednesday to deliberate on the implementation of automation, Optical Mark Recognition OMR, and e-marking systems. These technological measures aim to improve the efficiency and credibility of exam evaluation. The students can get latest updates of Education Boards Collaborate to Introduce E-Marking and Automation in Exams.

The meeting took place at the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education FBISE headquarters and was attended by Board of Intermediate Education Karachi BIEK Chairman Faqir Muhammad Lakho, Sindh Board of Technical Education Chairman Musharraf Ali Rajput, and FBISE Chairman Dr. Ikram Ali Malik.

It was mutually decided that a Memorandum of Understanding MoU would soon be signed between the three boards. Under this partnership, the Federal Board will provide complete technical assistance, training, and expert support to the Karachi and Sindh Technical Boards for the successful introduction of automation and e-marking procedures.

In the first phase, two representatives from each provincial board will receive specialized training at the Federal Board office in Islamabad. Afterward, the same advanced systems—automation, OMR, and e-marking—will be replicated within Karachi and Sindh.

The collaborative project aims to ensure fair, transparent, and technology-driven assessments. Chairman Faqir Muhammad Lakho mentioned that the Karachi Board had already conducted the Intermediate Part-I Mathematics exam 2025 using the e-marking system as a pilot program, which yielded highly satisfactory results.

Also present at the meeting were FBISE Director IT Dr. Bashir Khan and Controller of Examinations Aqeel Imran, who discussed the operational and technical framework for the new evaluation system.
