Decision to Implement Educational Emergency for 4 Years Across the Country
In a significant move to overhaul the education system, Pakistan has declared an Educational Emergency that will span the next four years, encompassing all regions including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. This ambitious plan aims to escalate the education budget substantially, from a mere 0.5% to a robust 5% within this timeframe.
The inception of this Educational Reform will be marked by a conference in Islamabad, convened today by the Federal Ministry of Education. The event will witness the participation of key political figures, including Shahbaz Sharif, who will preside over the gathering. The conference will also bring together the chief ministers and education ministers from all four provinces, highlighting the collaborative effort towards this national cause.
Addressing a critical issue, the Federal Ministry of Education has disclosed alarming statistics: over 26 million children in Pakistan are currently deprived of schooling. The government has set a formidable goal to reduce this figure down to 9 million over the next four years. This initiative reflects a decisive step towards improving educational access and quality, aiming to unlock the potential of millions of children and drive the nation towards a brighter future.
