CBSE Postpones Class 10 and 12 Board Exams in Middle East

CBSE Postpones Class 10 and 12 Board Exams in Middle East

The Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE has officially announced the postponement of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in several Middle Eastern countries. This decision comes in response to the rapidly evolving security situation in the region, prioritizing the safety and well-being of thousands of students and faculty members.

According to the official notification issued by the CBSE Controller of Examinations, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the postponement initially affected exams scheduled for March 2, 2026. However, following a secondary review on March 3, the board extended the deferment to include papers scheduled for March 5 and March 6. The affected regions include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Iran.

The board has clarified that this is a temporary postponement and not a cancellation. Students are urged to ignore viral fake circulars claiming the exams have been scrapped. New dates for the deferred subjects will be notified separately through official channels once the situation stabilizes. For now, the board will continue to monitor the ground reality and hold another review on March 5 to decide on the fate of upcoming examinations.

This move has provided a sigh of relief to many parents and educators concerned about logistical challenges and student safety during the current regional tensions. Students are advised to stay in constant contact with their respective school administrations and check the official CBSE website frequently for the latest updates. While the schedule for students in India remains unchanged, the board remains committed to ensuring a fair and secure examination environment for its international candidates.
