Canada SDS Study Visa No Longer Available for Pakistan
Canada is reinforcing its dedication to ensuring equal and transparent access to the study permit process for international students, including applicants from Pakistan.
In 2018, the Student Direct Stream SDS was introduced to speed up visa applications for eligible students pursuing post-secondary education, resulting in faster processing times.
Pakistan was among the nations included in the SDS program, alongside countries like India, China, and Nigeria. This initiative aimed to simplify the visa application process for students from these regions, facilitating their path to higher education in Canada Colleges & University.
However, Canada has recently decided to end the SDS and the Nigeria Student Express NSE programs, effective immediately. This decision impacts all participating countries, including Pakistan, and reflects ongoing efforts to enhance program integrity and fairness.
Students from Pakistan and other nations are encouraged to apply through the regular study permit process moving forward. This stream still accepts Guaranteed Investment Certificates GICs as proof of financial stability, ensuring that applicants meet the financial criteria for studying in Canada.
Despite these changes, Canada remains committed to welcoming international students, providing a rich academic experience in a diverse and inclusive environment.
