Cambridge International has announced that a definitive course of action regarding the leaked CAIE AS-Level Mathematics Paper 52 9709 will be made public by May 22. The exam, administered on May 12 across Administrative Zones 3 and 4, was prematurely distributed online in direct violation of safety guidelines. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain how widely the content spread and to determine the next administrative steps.
Ongoing Integrity Probe Targets Compromised Assessment to Safeguard Student Grading
Senior officials will finalize the response by analyzing gathered evidence under two main objectives: maintaining absolute grading credibility and reducing anxiety for students affected by the security breach. Terming the severity of recent exam thefts as entirely unprecedented, CAIE stated that perpetrators are actively trying to sabotage the Exams framework and jeopardize academic futures. Consequently, the board is initiating legal proceedings against those behind the leak.
Despite the ongoing crisis, candidates have been advised to maintain focus and continue preparing for their upcoming assessments. Cambridge assured stakeholders that robust measures are active to uphold the evaluation processs baseline security. Furthermore, the assessment board confirmed that the overarching release date for overall AS and CAIE A-Level Exams Results 2026 remains locked for August 11.
In a related development, Cambridge reiterated that the previously compromised AS-Level Mathematics Paper 12 stands permanently voided. Students affected by that specific breach are scheduled to sit for an entirely new replacement exam on June 9.
