British Pakistani Sells All Properties to Build 35 Schools in AJK
A British-Pakistani philanthropist, Chaudhary Muhammad Aslam, has touched thousands of lives by donating his entire life savings to rebuild 35 schools in Azad Kashmirs earthquake-affected areas. Originally from Mirpur, Aslam spent nearly five decades in the United Kingdom, where he worked tirelessly and managed to acquire five properties through sheer dedication.
Upon returning to Azad Kashmir in 2023, Aslam was heartbroken to see the long-lasting devastation from the 2005 earthquake, which had destroyed more than 2,400 schools. Even after nearly two decades, children in remote villages were seen sitting in the open—studying under the harsh sun, rain, and cold—with no proper school buildings in sight.
Shocked by the dire conditions, Aslam made a life-changing decision. He sold all five of his UK properties and donated the entire amount—worth crores of rupees—to help rebuild the region’s broken educational infrastructure.
Collaborating with Muslim Charity, a UK-based humanitarian organization, Aslam’s vision became reality. Today, 35 modern schools now stand tall in Bagh, Haveli, Pallandri, Rawalakot, and Muzaffarabad. These schools are equipped with well-furnished classrooms, furniture, and basic facilities—offering thousands of students a safe and dignified place to learn.
Aslam’s remarkable generosity has not only changed the future of countless children but has also become a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of selflessness and education.
