The Education Department stated that academic institutions located in cold zones will remain closed from December 16, 2025, to the end of February 2026. Classes are expected to resume in early March, subject to weather conditions and final departmental approval.

Chaman
Kalat
Ziarat
Killa Abdullah
Select areas of Quetta
Various mountainous districts

While schools prepare for the long winter recess, annual exams have already commenced in Chaman. As shared by the Education Department:

Exams for Classes 1–7 began on November 16, 2025, and will continue until November 24, 2025.

In a separate announcement, the Punjab School Education Department SED has finalized its holiday schedule for the 2025–26 winter season. All public and private schools in Punjab will observe vacations from:

December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026
Schools will reopen on January 12, 2026
