The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced winter vacations for all public and private educational institutions in the region. According to a notification from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, the Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education has approved the winter break timetable for schools. Winter Vacation Schedule for Azad Kashmir Schools

Schools located in colder areas of Azad Kashmir will remain closed from 26th December 2025 to 26th February 2026, totaling 63 days of winter holidays. Meanwhile, schools in warmer regions will observe a shorter break from 29th December 2025 to 10th January 2026, lasting 13 days. The notification confirms that this schedule applies uniformly to both government and private schools across the region.

Winter Break Plans Across Pakistan

The announcement in Azad Kashmir aligns with winter vacation schedules being set by educational authorities nationwide. In Islamabad, federal schools and colleges under the Federal Directorate of Education will close from 26th December 2025 to 3rd January 2026, with classes resuming on 5th January. Private schools and colleges in the capital, regulated by PEIRA, have been instructed to follow the same schedule.

Other provinces have also finalized their winter holiday plans. In Punjab, schools and colleges will remain closed from 22nd December 2025 to 10th January 2026. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has implemented a zone-based approach, with shorter breaks in milder areas and longer closures in regions experiencing harsher winter conditions.
