Authorities Proposal for New Matriculation Groups in Pakistan
Education authorities across Pakistan have proposed the introduction of two new academic groups at the matriculation level, focusing on technical education and agriculture. This initiative aims to broaden subject options and provide students with alternative pathways for higher education. Technical Education and Agriculture Added to Matric Curriculum
The Inter Board Coordination Committee IBCC has scheduled a consultative meeting in Islamabad on December 23 to review the proposal. Officials will discuss subject groupings, alternative routes to intermediate-level studies, and the eligibility criteria for pre-medical and pre-engineering programs.
The agenda also includes evaluating the equivalence of alternative matric subjects and foreign educational certificates. Additionally, discussions will cover general education, vocational training, and admission policies for students completing matriculation in technical education and agriculture, including their prospects for medical and engineering courses.
Furthermore, the meeting will consider forming a national working group dedicated to education reforms, aiming to enhance the overall quality and accessibility of the education system in Pakistan.
