Applications Open for Visiting Student Research Program VSRP 2026 in Saudi Arabia
The VSRP is a research-based internship lasting between three to six months. It is specially designed for students in STEM fields who are eager to gain practical exposure and work in advanced research facilities under expert supervision.

Selected participants will receive extensive financial and institutional support. The program offers a monthly stipend of 1,000 US dollars, along with return airfare to and from Saudi Arabia. Interns will be provided with private accommodation featuring a bedroom and attached bathroom, as well as health insurance coverage and visa assistance. Participants will also gain access to modern laboratories and research centers, take part in campus social and cultural activities, and benefit from mentorship by distinguished KAUST faculty members.

The internship spans numerous research disciplines, including science, engineering, technology, environmental studies, computer science, mathematics, physical sciences, electrical engineering, water-related research, energy studies, and biological sciences. This wide range of fields allows students from diverse academic backgrounds to apply.

To qualify, applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program in their third year or beyond or a master’s degree program. A minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4 is required. The program welcomes students of all nationalities, including those from Pakistan. Strong English communication skills are expected, although standardized tests such as IELTS or TOEFL are not mandatory. However, PhD students, current KAUST students, and alumni of KAUST are not eligible to apply.

Candidates must submit several documents through the online application system, including an updated CV, an official academic transcript in English or Arabic, a recommendation letter, a personal statement, and a valid passport copy.

One of the key advantages of the KAUST VSRP is that applications remain open throughout the year, allowing students to apply at a time that fits their academic calendar. Interested individuals should visit the official KAUST VSRP website, create an account on the application portal, complete the required information, upload the necessary documents, select their preferred research area, and submit their application. Shortlisted applicants are usually notified within a few weeks after their applications have been reviewed.
