All Medical Colleges Across Punjab Will Open From Tomorrow

The Government of Punjab has announced the reopening all medical educational institutions across the Punjab province. As per details, the government has allowed all medical colleges to start academic activities from 27th May 2021 tomorrow. However, the government has strictly ordered to follow the SOPs set by the government of Punjab against corona virus.

The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHMED) has officially released a statement regarding the opening of all public and private medical, dental colleges and nursing schools.

According to SHMED only third, fourth, and final year MBBS students and third and fourth year BDS students will be allowed to come in colleges to attend the classes physically. On the other hand, the students of class first and second year MBBS and BDS are directed to continue their classes online.

For the implementation of COVID-19 SOPs, the department has strictly made responsible the heads of all public and private medical institutions and they are also responsible for the COVID-19 vaccination of all students and teachers as well as non-teaching staff members.

Moreover, the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHMED) has also banned the extra-curricular activities like sports competitions and cultural events in medical and dental colleges and nursing schools.
