AERC Admissions 2025 M.Phil Programs

The Applied Economics Research Centre AERC, a nationally recognized institution for advanced training and research in applied economics, is pleased to announce admissions for its 13th Annual Session of the M.S. / M.Phil. Weekend Programme for the Fall 2025-26 session.

Since 1979, AERC has produced highly qualified professionals who now hold prominent positions in national and international organizations, including The World Bank, UNDP, the State Bank of Pakistan, and various universities and development institutions.

Programme Overview

The AERC Admissions Offerd M.S./M.Phil. programme is designed to equip students with analytical, research, and policy formulation skills required in:

Government & Development Agencies

Academia

Private Sector Think Tanks

Note:

This is a weekend-only programme, ideal for working professionals and fresh graduates seeking advanced qualifications without disrupting their weekday commitments.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a:

Master’s degree or 4-year Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines:

Economics

Economics & Finance

Business Administration

Commerce

Mathematics

Statistics

Or a related equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized institution

Minimum Second Division required

Additional Requirements:

Candidates with degrees from non-public sector universities must provide an Equivalence Certificate from the University of Karachi’s Equivalence Committee

Result-awaiting candidates may apply conditionally but must submit final transcripts before the start of the second quarter

All eligible candidates must qualify an Admission Test

Sample papers are available on AERCs website

GAT Subject by NTS or GRE Advanced Economics scores within last 2 years may be accepted in lieu
