8th Class Student Dies Due to Heatwave in Bahawalnagar
In a tragic incident reported by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority PDMA, an 8th class girl student from a government school in Bahawalnagar has passed away due to a severe heatwave in Punjab 2025.
According to official sources, the 13-year-old student from Haroonabad fell unconscious in her classroom because of intense heat and humidity. The PDMA spokesperson confirmed that the child had a pre-existing heart condition, and suffered a fatal heart attack as a result of the extreme weather.
The Bahawalnagar student dies due to heatwave incident has raised serious concerns about student health in summer 2025, especially in under-resourced government schools lacking proper ventilation and cooling systems. Teachers immediately rushed the student to a hospital, but she could not survive.
This tragic case is part of a growing number of reports highlighting how the extreme heat in Pakistan schools is putting young lives at risk. Authorities are being urged to take immediate steps to ensure classroom safety in summer conditions.
