The Government Sadiq College Women University was established with the vision to extend the higher standard of education to the students. This is the public sector university, which is located in Bahawalpur and it was founded by Nawab Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi V as the inter college in 1944 and this college was upgraded as degree college in 1957. The provincial assembly of Punjab passed the Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur Act in December 2012 and it was made the full fledged university. This university is meeting the educational requirements of the girl students of this city and the nearby cities. This educational institute offers education to the female students at the graduate and postgraduate levels in the disciplines including Information Technology, Zoology, Physics, Education, Business Administration, Botany, Islamic Studies, Urdu, English, Applied Psychology, Chemistry, Economics, Hone Economics and Fine Arts, and Mathematics.
