About Sindh Agriculture University
The Sindh Agricultural University SAU was established in 1977. Historically, the journey of the university started in 1932 after the developing of Sukkur Barrage, as an agricultural institute was in demand for the development of agriculture in Sindh. Thus 1939-40 an Agriculture College was established based on agriculture research was established at Sakrand, Nawabshah. The college was named after the King George-V Institute of Agriculture. In 1955, after the construction of Kotri Barrage, the government shifted the College to Tando Jam.
In Tando Jam, the college succeeded in promoting permanent agricultural education in the province. Thus, the remarkable achievements of the College paved the way for the transformation of the College into a fully fledged University on March 1, 1977, which was established under the 1977 Act, named after Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam. The broad objectives of the establishment of the Sindh Agricultural University, Tando Jam focuses on agricultural education, improving the quality of education, promoting an integrated approach to teaching, research and extension activities, preparing service-oriented graduates and developing appropriate technology.
Sindh Agricultural University is a public sector university and affiliated with Higher Education Commission HEC and Pakistan Engineering Council PEC. The SAU is currently offering various under graduate and graduate programs in the following faculties under the supervision of highly qualified and experience faculty members.
