The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan has officially announced the opening of admissIon applications for the 2025.

Global Undergraduate Semester Exchange Program for Pakistan. This prestigious program offers a unique opportunity for Pakistani undergraduate students to experience one semester of full-time, non-degree academic study in the United States. The initiative is designed to foster mutual understanding between the people of Pakistan and the United States while providing participants with an immersive educational experience abroad.

Program Overview

The Global Undergraduate Semester Exchange Program allows Pakistani students to broaden their academic horizons by studying in the United States. Participants will not only engage in full-time academic studies but also participate in community service activities, gaining insights into the principles of social responsibility as practiced in the United States. This experience aims to enrich students’ educational journeys and foster a greater understanding of different cultures and societal structures.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Citizenship and Age: Applicants must be Pakistani citizens aged between 18-24 years by the application deadline.

Current Enrollment: Students must be currently enrolled in a college or university in Pakistan and committed to returning to their home institution after completing the program.

Educational Standing: Applicants should be in their 14th year of formal education.

Academic Records: Submission of both current/most recent and previous academic transcripts is required.

Grant Benefits

Selected participants will receive comprehensive support, which includes:

Round-trip airfare between Pakistan and the United States.

Coverage of tuition and fees for the semester in the United States.

Housing and meals throughout the duration of the program.

A limited allowance for books.

Accident and sickness coverage.

A monthly maintenance allowance to help cover living expenses.

Ineligibility Criteria

The program is not open to:

Dual U.S./Pakistani nationals or U.S. permanent residents.

Employees and their immediate family members of the Fulbright organization, the U.S. Department of State, or USAID.

Students who have previously traveled to the United States on a J-visa or a U.S. government-funded grant.

Applicants from underserved communities and those with diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply, as the program seeks to promote diversity and inclusion.

Application Details

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, September 25, 2024. All applications must be submitted online; paper copies will not be accepted. Required materials, including degrees, transcripts, and certificates, must be uploaded with the online application. Additionally, reference letters and the Duolingo English Test will be required from candidates who are selected in the preliminary stages.
