Punjab Revised School Timings Due to Severe Cold Weather
Punjab School Education Department has officially extended the winter timings for schools across the province until January 31, 2024. The decision, outlined in a notification dated January 20, affects both public and private schools. Regular timings are scheduled to resume from February 1, 2024. Morning Start at 9:30 am
In response to the severe winter conditions, the Punjab government has mandated that schools throughout the province commence their activities at 9:30 am. This adjustment in timings aims to address the challenges posed by the cold weather. Notably, the provincial government opted against extending winter holidays, choosing instead to modify the school hours.
SSC Matric Exam Schedule Remains Unchanged
Despite requests from the All Pakistan Private Schools Association APPSA to postpone the upcoming SSC matric exams by at least a month, the provincial education department has decided to maintain the original schedule. The APPSA had addressed a letter to the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab and the Secretary of Higher Education seeking a delay. However, officials emphasized that altering the SSC examination timeline could disrupt the schedules of higher-level exams.
It is important to stay updated on these changes to ensure a smooth transition back to regular school timings and to be aware of the unaltered schedule for the upcoming matric exams in Punjab.
