Punjab Major Funding Boost for PEF Partner Schools
The Punjab Govt is planning a significant increase in financial assistance for schools in Punjab operating under the Punjab Education Foundation PEF. The proposal aims to raise the monthly per-student subsidy for institutions participating in the Public Schools Reorganization Program PSRP, helping them manage rising operational expenses while continuing to provide free education. Officials say the move reflects the Govts commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships in education and improving learning opportunities for students across the province.
Higher Subsidy Expected to Improve School Operations
Under the proposed plan, the subsidy may increase from Rs. 1,250 to Rs. 3,000 per enrolled student, giving partner schools additional resources to cover teacher salaries, classroom materials, utility costs, and essential educational facilities. Education authorities believe that stronger financial support will help schools maintain better academic standards and create a more stable learning environment for children enrolled under the PEF system.
