Punjab Education Minister Personally Teach in Govt Schools
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that he will personally teach students in Govt schools as part of an initiative to strengthen classroom learning and closely monitor the quality of education. The decision reflects the provincial Govts commitment to improving academic standards through direct engagement with students and teachers. By stepping into the classroom, the minister aims to gain first-hand insight into teaching practices and identify areas where further educational reforms are needed.
English and Chemistry Selected as Core Teaching Subjects
The minister revealed that he will begin by teaching English at primary school level and Chemistry in high schools in Punjab, while remaining open to conducting lessons in other subjects when required. Regular classroom visits are expected to start from the first week of September, with schools receiving no prior notice. This approach is intended to provide an authentic understanding of classroom environments, student learning outcomes, and the everyday challenges faced by educators across Punjab.
Weekly School Visits to Strengthen Public Education
As part of the initiative, the Punjab Education Minister plans to visit one Govt school every week to interact directly with students and teachers. Officials believe these surprise visits will promote greater accountability, encourage active learning, and help assess the implementation of ongoing Punjab education reforms. The initiative also aligns with broader efforts to improve teaching quality, student performance, and effective school monitoring throughout the province.
Hands-On Leadership to Improve Learning Standards
