Private Schools in Lahore Must Comply with Free-Education Quota
The District Education Authority DEA Lahore has issued a critical mandate requiring all private educational institutions in Lahore to submit comprehensive records of student admissions under the mandatory 10 percent free-education quota. This directive, acting as a final warning, necessitates the immediate submission of documentation within a strict three-day timeframe. Failure to adhere to these regulatory requirements could result in significant administrative penalties.
Ensuring Educational Equity via the Free-Education Quota
In accordance with the Punjab Free and Compulsory Education Rules 2024, every private school is legally obligated to reserve a minimum of 10 percent of seats in every grade for children from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. This policy ensures that quality education remains accessible to all, irrespective of financial status. To maintain transparency, the DEA has instructed schools in Punjab to provide both hard and soft copies of their class-wise admission records, along with relevant supporting documentation to verify the successful implementation of this pro-poor education policy.
