PMA Admissions 2027-28 Deck & Engineering Cadets

The Pakistan Marine Academy PMA is pleased to announce the opening of admissions for the 65th Batch of Nautical Deck and Marine Engineering Cadets for the academic session 2027-28. This is a premier opportunity for young, ambitious men to embark on a prestigious career in the Merchant Navy.

Eligibility Criteria and Academic Requirements

To be eligible for this specialized training, applicants must be unmarried male citizens of Pakistan. The age limit is strictly set at 20 years as of December 31, 2026, with a one-year age relaxation granted to candidates from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan.

Academically, candidates must have successfully passed their F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with a combination of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, achieving at least 55% marks. Students appearing in F.Sc/A-Level Part-II may apply with a Hope Certificate if they secured at least 60% marks in Part-I; however, final admission is contingent upon meeting the 55% threshold. O/A Level candidates are required to submit an Equivalency Certificate.

Streamlined Registration and Selection Process

Interested candidates can download the prospectus and application form from the official website for PMA Nautical Deck and Marine Engineering Cadets admission. Applications must be submitted via courier services, accompanied by a pay order or bank draft of Rs. 4,000 in favor of the Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi.

The selection procedure is rigorous and ensures only the most capable candidates are chosen. It consists of four primary stages:

An Entrance Test conducted by a testing agency across major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Gwadar, and Muzaffarabad.

A comprehensive Medical Fitness Exam at designated Army/Navy hospitals.

A Physical Efficiency Test PET, which includes running, push-ups, sit-ups, and chin-ups.

A final Interview.

Candidates must qualify for each stage to proceed. Final selection is merit-based, considering academic percentage, entrance test marks, medical fitness, and performance in the PET and interview.

World-Class Education and Professional Training

Selected cadets will undergo a two-year residential training program at the PMA. Upon completion, cadets are awarded an Associate Degree in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering from the NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, alongside International Maritime Organization IMO recognized pre-sea mandatory course certificates.

The academy offers 75 seats each for the Nautical Deck and Engineering branches. Please note that candidates must pass MMD eye vision and color perception tests; those who are color blind are ineligible.
