Following similar decisions in Sindh and Balochistan, the Federal Ministry has announced that the summer holidays for 2024 in Islamabad will be extended, though only for a few days. The official notification from the Ministry states:
“Due to intense heat and humidity in the Federal Capital district, summer vacations in ICT schools and colleges will be extended until 4th August 2024.”
Thus, the summer break in Islamabad is extended until 4th August 2024, with classes resuming on 5th August 2024.
Summer Break Extensions in Other Provinces
Recently, the Sindh government extended its summer vacation until 14th August due to ongoing severe weather. Similarly, Balochistan extended its break until 14th August 2024, citing hot weather and anticipated torrential rains and flash flooding. Schools in these provinces are set to reopen on 15th August 2024.
