HEC Inspects Online University Classes Quality

Due to spread of coronavirus across Pakistan, all schools, colleges and universities are closed and HEC has issued directives to all universities to arrange online lectures to their students. HEC has issued the directives on the quality of online lectures.

HEC is working with university to reduce the impact of lockdown on academic activities of university three specialized committees have been set up to support the IT facilities, software, tech support substantive online content. In order to remove internet access issues, HEC is consulting with internet service providers, software experts, telcos to identify solutions and universities provides trainings to faculty members to impart online lectures.
The COVID-19 Technology Support Committee of HEC prepared guidance papers to support the senior leadership of universities to make transition easy and provide minimum technology requirements and recommendations to choose digital platforms for university. The universities should share their course outlines and required reading materials with students through online learning management systems. HEC is going to develop national knowledge bank by gathering data from universities, in order to provide online courses and educational materials to students. The universities will use their sufficient resources to develop and impart the online lectures to students during the lockdown and ensure avoiding academic loss to students during closure of the educational institutes.
