First CS Program of Google for Pakistani Students

Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication has made the announcement for the launching of the CS first programs for the kids to learn coding with other IT skills. The ministry has launched this program with Tech Valley Pakistan, Virtual University and Telecom Foundation. IT Minister Launches CS First Program of Google for Pakistani Students.

The launching ceremony was managed in committee room of Ministry of IT and Telecom on Wednesday. The Federal IT Minister has inaugurated Google CS First program and IT Secretary was also present on this occasion. CS First is the early age coding program introduced for the kids having age from 9 to 14 and it is included with free computer science curriculum and it helps to make coding easy and fun to learn with the help of video based activities and various themes of sports, game design and art.
Tech Valley is the official trusted country partner for Google for Education, Google Cloud and Google Workplace and it has localized global CS First curriculum and it has developed detailed plan of the implementation and it has made the cooperation with global CS First team of Google in California. Google implemented CS First program one of its top priorities in Pakistan and Google head of South Asia said that they were fully committed to program and they appreciated support of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, Telecom Foundation and Virtual University.

During the first phase, Telecom Foundation Schools will get the benefit from this step and pass on digital literacy to low income and underprivileged households in the mandated segment. The Virtual University is also providing the necessary facilities in their campuses to give training to teachers and the students by introducing the CS First Program in Pakistan and it also provides on-ground support in order to deliver the program. The director of Virtual University also said that this university has been the big promoter of technology and education in Pakistan. They are pleased to become the official part of Google Program and it will help them to play their vital role for the promotion of the online education.
