Federal Board Answer Sheet Replacement Scandal
A new scandal has emerged within the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education FBISE regarding the management of Higher Secondary School Certificates HSSC answer sheets. According to sources within the board, a recent scanning process revealed that some HSSC answer sheets had been replaced with new ones, raising concerns as the HSSC annual results are set to be announced next month. Discovery Through IT System and QR Codes
The Federal Board IT system identified the replacements through the QR codes printed on each page of the answer sheets. Allegations suggest that 62 answer sheets were replaced, although this was only discovered after the scanning process. The scanning task was carried out by loaders hired for the job, and when the issue came to light, several loaders were dismissed in an attempt to cover up the scandal.
Call for a Thorough Inquiry
A board official has called for a thorough investigation to determine whether the replacements were intended to benefit a select group of students or if they were the result of human error. Joint Secretary of Education, Syed Junaid Ikhlaq, confirmed that an investigation is underway. He mentioned that during the scanning process, answer sheets of a few students, possibly around 32 pages, were replaced by some loaders who have since been removed from their positions.
Impact on HSSC Results
Mr. Ikhlaq assured that the issue would not affect the HSSC results, as the replacements were detected by the board in time. After scanning, the answer sheets are sent to paper checkers for evaluation before the final results are announced.
