As the new academic year gains momentum, the admission process for first-year intermediate students in various colleges within Islamabad Capital Territory ICT has sparked confusion and questions due to significant differences in admission fees. Varied Fees Structure under Federal Directorate of Education FDE
The Federal Directorate of Education FDE oversees multiple colleges, and the glaring inconsistency in admission fees for identical educational programs has left many perplexed. This incongruity has prompted inquiries into the rationale behind such disparities.
Humanities Group Admissions
For students opting for the humanities group, the admission fees range widely. Islamabad Model Postgraduate College IMPC H-8 charges Rs. 8,920, while Islamabad College for Boys ICB G-6/3 sets it at Rs. 8,220. Simultaneously, Islamabad Model College for Girls IMCG F-7/4 and Islamabad Model College for Boys IMCB H-9 demand Rs. 7,720 for the same subject group.
Discrepancies Across Other Streams
The discrepancy trend continues across other academic streams. In the commerce group, IMPC H-8 charges Rs. 8,200, IMCB H-9 levies Rs. 7,720, ICB G-6/3 stands at Rs. 8,220, and Islamabad Model Postgraduate College of Commerce H-8/4 sets the fee at Rs. 8,260.
In the pre-engineering group, ICB G-6/3 charges Rs. 8,700, whereas IMPC H-8 imposes a slightly lower fee of Rs. 8,680 for the same program. Similarly, IMCG F-7/4 and IMCB H-9 both charge Rs. 8,200, while IMCG F-7/2 sets the fee at Rs. 8,660 for first-year pre-engineering students.
Disparities in Pre-Medical Group
The pre-medical group also experiences discrepancies in fee charges. IMCB H-9 and IMCG F-7/4 both ask for Rs.8,440, IMPC H-8 and IMCG F-7/2 demand Rs.8,920, and ICB G-6/3 sets the fee at Rs.8,700.
