The University of Kotli is situated in district Kotli, Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Previous University of Kotli was college affiliated the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. In a Presidential order VIII of 2014 it was upgraded as university. The purpose of upgradation was to facilitate the students of Kotli and surroundings with higher education. The chancellor of the university is president of the state AJK. The university is well equipped with science labs, computer lab and library. UOKAJK also offers merit based scholarships to the needy and talented students to continue their higher education in financial crises.
