The University of Engineering and Technology UET Peshawar has officially announced the opening of admissions for Master’s and Ph.D. degree programs for the Fall 2024 semester. Aspiring candidates can now apply for a variety of engineering and non-engineering programs across multiple disciplines. The detailed information regarding the fields of specialization offered is available in the Postgraduate Prospectus for 2024-25.
Master’s Degree Programs;
UET Peshawar offers a diverse range of Master’s degree programs in the following fields:
Civil Engineering with specializations in Structural Engineering and Water Resources Engineering.
National Institute of Urban Infrastructure Planning offers a specialization in Urban Infrastructure Engineering.
Electrical Engineering with options in Power Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
Mechanical Engineering focusing on Mechanical Engineering Design.
Industrial Engineering featuring a program in Engineering Management.
Computer Systems Engineering with specializations in Machine Learning, Information Security, Digital and Embedded Systems, and Software Engineering.
Computer Science offering specializations in Cyber Security and Data Science and Distributed Systems.
Admission Requirements for Master’s Programs:
Eligibility: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline. The specific requirements vary by program. For example:
Civil Engineering: B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Electrical Engineering: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Computer Science: Degrees such as BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, BCS 3 years with an additional semester, MCS, M.Sc. CS, or a B.Sc. in Engineering.
Mechanical Engineering: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
Urban Infrastructure Engineering: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Geoinformatics Engineering, or Sanitary Engineering.
Testing Requirements: All candidates must qualify either the GRE General or the GAT General conducted by UET Peshawar, with a minimum qualifying score of 50%.
Plan Options:
Plan A: Research-based program consisting of 24 credit hours of coursework and 6 credit hours of research work.
Plan B: Course-based program requiring 30 credit hours of coursework.
The minimum duration for both plans is 1.5 years, with a maximum duration of 4 years.

Admission Requirements for Ph.D. Programs:
Eligibility: Candidates must possess a Master’s, M.Phil., or equivalent degree in the related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 3.75 out of 5.00. First Division in the annual system is also acceptable if CGPA is not mentioned.
Testing Requirements: Applicants must qualify either the GRE General or the GAT General conducted by UET Peshawar, achieving at least 60% marks.
Application Procedure:
Candidates must fill out the online application form for the UET Peshawar GAT General test for M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs at www.enggentrancetest.pk.
After passing the test, applicants must complete the online admission application form available on the same website.
Ph.D. candidates are also required to submit a research proposal to the Directorate of Admissions.

Additional Information:
Ph.D. candidates will be updated by the concerned department regarding the progress of their admission. It is important to note that no separate call letters will be issued for interviews or admissions for the Master’s degree programs. Applicants are advised to regularly check the notice boards for merit lists and other relevant updates.
