Empowering Medical Professionals: Admission 2024 Process for MS/MD/MDS Programs in Punjab

The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, SH&MED Government of Punjab, is taking a significant step in providing equal opportunities to talented doctors through the Punjab Residency Program. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Punjab, this initiative aims to offer quality medical education in the province on a merit basis. The focus is on MS, MD, and MDS programs, with a streamlined admission process outlined for interested candidates.

Admission Criteria:

To be eligible for the programs, candidates must hold an MBBS/BDS from a recognized institution. Additionally, completion of a one-year house job from a recognized institution/hospital is mandatory. Applicants should possess a valid CNIC/Passport and Domicile certificate. Pakistani nationals must have permanent or provisional valid registration with the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council/Pakistan Medical Commission.

For foreign nationals, provisional permission for the Joint Centralized Admission Test JCAT is granted. However, passing the entry test without meeting eligibility requirements or providing false information may lead to legal action and disqualification.

Entrance Test Details:

The entrance test, scheduled for March 3, 2024, consists of a written examination with 125 multiple-choice questions MCQs carrying a total of 250 marks. There is no negative marking, and a minimum of 60% is required to pass. The question paper pattern is available on the official website.

Application Procedure:

The application process is online, ensuring convenience for candidates. The following steps should be followed:

Registration: Candidates must register on the web portal using their email and CNIC/Passport for foreign nationals. After email verification, login credentials will be provided.

Generate Bank Challan: Generate and print the bank challan after filling in the required information. Deposit the examination fee in any branch of the National Bank of Pakistan NBP using the KEMU web-generated bank challan.

Upload Paid Challan: Upload the scanned copy of the paid challan into the portal.

Fill Application Form: Complete the online application form, including uploading scanned copies of all required documents.

Important Dates:

Online applications single fee: December 21, 2023, to January 8, 2024, 03:00 PM.

Online applications double fee: January 9, 2024, to January 15, 2024, 03:00 PM.

No applications accepted after January 15, 2024.

Additional Information:

Each applicant can choose a city for the examination center Lahore or Multan, and this choice is irreversible.

Incomplete forms will be rejected.

Admittance cards/roll no. slips will be issued online after verification of documents and application forms.
