The F.G. Minwalla Girls High School, Karachi Cantt, was established on September 1, 1966. It was never a private school; it was under the Navy and Cantt board until President Zia ul Haq nationalized it around 1981. The first principal of Minwalla School, Mrs. Mary Hosein was an excellent principal and she served from 1966 to 1973. A Parsi philanthropist, Mr. Cyrus Minwalla who was the owner of Metropole Hotel and a member of Cantt Board gave a generous donation for the construction of a separate school for girls. This new school was built next to the Cantt Public School. For Mr. Minwalla’s generosity and as a gesture of goodwill the new girls’ school was named after him.

The F.G. Minwalla Girls High School, Karachi Cantt is affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education FBISE, Islamabad.
