About Govt Islamia College Railway Road Lahore

Government Islamia College Railway road Lahore came into being in 1892 by Anjuman-i-Hamayat-i-Islam. This college was made due to the purpose of giving education to the muslims of Northern part of sub-continent. Initially the college started in Sherawala Gate Building and after that it was shifted to the new building near Railway road with the help of Bhopa state Nawab Shah Jahan Begum. In the province Punjab , this college was very famous due to historical point of view. The great leader Quaid-e-Azam also many time visited this college and addressed to students.
