Teaching Quran & Translation Compulsory in Universities
The Governor of Punjab has announced that the teaching of the Holy Quran with its translation is declared compulsory in all universities of the province. The governor, who is also the chancellor of all universities across Punjab Province, has made this announcement to declare the teaching of the Holy Quran with the translation and the students will attend the classes. He formed the seven member committee of the vice chancellors to submit the recommendation and syllabus. Teaching Quran & Translation Compulsory in Universities.
The governor said that the classes of the translation of Quran will be compulsory for all students and the necessary amendment will be made to constitution. The committee is formed, which is comprised of seven chancellors and they will submit the recommendation by 10 May. The recommendations of this committee of seven VCs will be sent to all VCs of the government and private universities and Ulema in the province. The discussion on the suggestions and feedback from VCs and Ulema will be carried out on 17 May.
The seven member committee of the VCs will be headed by Punjab University VC, Prof Niaz Ahmed and other members are VC Prof Dr Masood Gondal of King Edward Medical University, VC Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha of University of Education, VC Prof Dr Javed Akram of University of Health Sciences Lahore, VC Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, VC Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi of Government College University Lahore and VC Dr Bushra Mirza of Lahore College of Women University.
