HEC Not Issued University Rankings for Online Readiness

Higher Education Commission has made it clear that it has never issued the university rankings or evaluated the universities for the online readiness. HEC Not Issued University Rankings for Online Readiness.

There are some reports, which are issued by different universities that claim their rankings. HEC issued the instructions to the universities to self report their readiness and also share it with the public. After this, total 138 universities submitted the information, which is now available online and the remaining universities have to submit their reports. The main objective of this report is to provide such information, which can help them to improve their performance rather ranking different universities. It does not mean to compare or reflect the quality of their online offering.

The information shows that the faculty members delivered 108,804 out of 112,109 courses online to the students. There are total 42,392 faculty members, who have received the training to provide the online education and it is 86.7% of the faculty members of 48,851, who started the online teaching since the start of lock down because of the pandemic across the country. There are total 127 universities out of 138 universities, which have reported that they started providing the access of the students to the digital library.

When the information gathering by all universities will be completed, HEC will evaluate it and the qualitative ranking will be shared with the press. It is requested to the varsities to claim that they have been rated or found by HEC that they are in 100% compliance with the requirements or instructions of the HEC.
